YMCA Interim House Support:

The Alliance continues to support the shelter.   The Alliance is collecting the following supplies for their residents:

-         Women’s and children’s clothing slightly used

-         Personal care products

-         Linens—twin sheets, towels

-         Cleaning /laundry supplies

-         Food— canned goods, milk, eggs, fruit

These donations will be delivered at our luncheon meeting at the Interim House on Wednesday, November 12^th.   Donations are being accepted.

Membership:

Membership is down from last year.  We are in the process of a membership campaign in cooperation with MSMS-Alliance membership chair, Felicity Thompson.  One of the target areas is to enroll the spouses of the officers, committee chairs and committee members of the WCMS.  With the assistance of MSMSA will be also be targeting residency programs by asking to talk to the resident’s during one of their meetings.

Schools:

The AMA- Alliance is supporting a program for children to raise awareness against violence and bullies.  Through a grant, we have ordered 200 copies of “Hands are Not for Hitting” and “I Can Handle Bullies” for distribution to grade school students.

We make continuous efforts to update the website and keep it current with the happenings to improve communications and to keep all the members well informed.  The website can be accessed from Wayne County Medical Society’s home page ( www.WCMSSM.org ) as well as www.MSMS.org.
