President 2008-2009

Edward
Christopher Bush, MD received his undergraduate degree from the
University of Notre Dame in Biology, and Medical Degree from Wayne State
University School of Medicine. He was trained at Secours Hospital in
Family Practice under Archie Bedell, M.D., Ph.D. After completion of his
formal training, he entered private practice in the downriver area. He
has been on the Medical Staff of Oakwood Hospital-Dearborn, Oakwood-Southshore
and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital since that time.
He was
encouraged by Dr. Bedell and Dr. Lou Zako to get involved in organized
medicine early in his career and has stayed active over the past twenty
five years. Currently he is in his ninth year representing Wayne County
as a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan State Medical
Society. He served as Delegate-at Large on the Michigan Delegation to
the OMSS at the AMA level. Recently he just completed a two-year term as
Medical Staff President of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
Other
activities include: Board member, Michigan Academy of Family Physicians,
Board member,
Wayne County Medical Society Foundation, the Greater Detroit Area Health
Council's Save Lives, Save Dollars work group and the Detroit-Wayne
County Health Care Authority's Provider Access Committee. Finally, he
is an active member in the Wyandotte Clinic for the Working Uninsured, a
"free clinic" in the downriver area.
