About WCMSSM

Founded in 1849, WCMSSM is one of Michigan's oldest and most active medical societies. Its mission is to promote the highest standards of medical practice and ethics, advocate for physicians and patients, and advance public health.

WCMSSM provides members with legislative support, continuing education, networking opportuntities, and community outreach programs.

As one of the largest county medical socities in Michigan, WCMSSM represents a diverse community of physicians across all specialties — united by a shared commitment to excellence in medicine and the health of Wayne County residents

Dr. Nicolas K. Fletcher is a physician and healthcare leader focused on transforming medicine through strategic leadership, organizational innovation, and community partnerships. As President of the Wayne County Medical Society, he is leading the organization through one of the most significant transitions in its history—reimagining an independent, physician-centered, community-connected, mission-driven county medical society to meet the evolving challenges facing the practice of medicine in Southeast Michigan.
